Combat Boots

Combat boots made in Estonia: the M77, first issued to the Norwegian army more than 50 years ago, the 2077 and the Hawk Pilot that Samelin builds on it, and the A-PS-2 made by hand to order by AIPI in Tallinn. EU sizes 32 to 52.

Which combat boot is which?

The M77 is the original, in 2.8 to 3 mm full grain leather on a direct injected PU sole. The 2077 keeps the M77 upper on a lighter two layer sole that bends more easily. The Hawk Pilot is the M77 adapted for pilots, with a lace lock and a waterproof inside zip. The A-PS-2 takes its shape from American military boots and has a stitched sole.

How do they fit?

The M77 runs large, because it is made to be worn with thermal or double socks; the M77 inner socks are made to fit inside it. AIPI makes each A-PS-2 after you choose your size. Each product page gives the size range and how that model fits.

Are combat boots waterproof?

The leather is treated to repel water, which keeps out rain and slush, and the Hawk Pilot's inside zip is waterproof. For deep slush, the waterproof overboots go on over the boots. Greasing the leather keeps it water repellent.

How long do they take to wear in?

Full leather boots take a few weeks to wear in, the M77 with its 3 mm leather most of all. The insoles of the Samelin boots come out and can be washed, and the workshop can renew the stitched A-PS-2 sole when it wears down.

How much is delivery, and can I return a pair?

Delivery is free to Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania on every order, and free across the EU on orders from €150. AIPI boots are made to order and leave the workshop in 7 to 14 working days.
