  • Long cut, extra coverage
  • No lanolin, so it does not itch
  • Unisex
  • Designed in Estonia, knitted in Peru

Details

Socks in 44% alpaca, 36% acrylic and 20% nylon. The alpaca does the warming; the nylon and acrylic are what let a sock survive being walked on.

Reinforced at the heel and toe, the two places socks fail. Alpaca is hollow-cored, so they warm without the damp heaviness of a thick wool sock, and the fibre carries no lanolin — no itch across the instep.

Cut long, for extra coverage under boots or around the house. Unisex. Drawn in Estonia, knitted in Peru.

Material

44% alpaca, 36% acrylic, 20% nylon. Reinforced heel and toe.

Maker

Alpaka pairs Nordic design with Peruvian fibre. Scarves, hats and socks in baby alpaca, drawn in Estonia and knitted in Peru in small batches.

Size & Fit

Unisex sizing. Knitted with stretch to fit a range of foot sizes.

Care

Dry clean recommended. If you would rather wash it at home, use cold water and a wool detergent, then dry flat — never hang alpaca wet, it stretches.

Alpaca Blend

44% alpaca, 36% acrylic, 20% nylon. Reinforced at the heel and toe.

ProductionWarm, Not Heavy

Alpaca fibre is hollow, so it insulates at low weight and stays breathable indoors.

No Lanolin

Alpaca carries no lanolin, which is what makes sheep wool itch. It sits flat against skin.

Peru

Alpaca fibre is hollow down the middle. That is the whole reason a scarf this light holds heat the way it does, and why it breathes when you step indoors instead of turning into a radiator.

It also carries no lanolin, so it does not itch. Drawn in Estonia, knitted in Peru in small batches by people who have worked the fibre for generations.
