Details
A beanie in 100% baby alpaca — the finest grade of the fleece, which is what lets it sit against the forehead without the itch you get from sheep wool. Alpaca carries no lanolin, and lanolin is the culprit.
The fisherman's rib knit gives it stretch and structure, so it grips without squeezing and does not stretch out over a season. The fibre is hollow, so it holds heat at low weight and vents when you step inside.
Unisex, one size. Drawn in Estonia, knitted in Peru. Arrives in a gift bag.
Material
100% baby alpaca. No lanolin, so it does not itch.
Maker
Alpaka pairs Nordic design with Peruvian fibre. Scarves, hats and socks in baby alpaca, drawn in Estonia and knitted in Peru in small batches.
Size & Fit
Unisex, one size. The rib knit stretches to fit most head sizes.
Care
Dry clean recommended. If you would rather wash it at home, use cold water and a wool detergent, then dry flat — never hang alpaca wet, it stretches.

Baby Alpaca Beanie – Unisex Fisherman’s Rib Alpaca Wool Hat
100% Baby Alpaca
Baby alpaca is a fibre grade, not an age. It is the finest fleece the animal produces.
ProductionNo Lanolin
Alpaca carries no lanolin, which is what makes sheep wool itch. It sits flat against skin.
Warm, Not Heavy
Alpaca fibre is hollow, so it insulates at low weight and stays breathable indoors.
Peru
Alpaca fibre is hollow down the middle. That is the whole reason a scarf this light holds heat the way it does, and why it breathes when you step indoors instead of turning into a radiator.
It also carries no lanolin, so it does not itch. Drawn in Estonia, knitted in Peru in small batches by people who have worked the fibre for generations.
