Felt made from the fibres of used drinks bottles. Nordhale uses it for totes, briefcases and laptop sleeves: it holds its shape, protects a laptop without added padding and stands up to light rain.

Wipe it with a dry or slightly damp cloth, keep it away from long direct sun and from heat, and treat it with a leather balm now and then. Bark tanned leather, as used by Stella Soomlais, darkens and takes a patina with use. The Journal has a full care guide.
