Details

The Rhapsody is the shirt dress of the two Linen Tales cuts: long, full button placket, elasticated cuffs, a drawstring belt at the waist, inseam pockets and slits at the side. Porcelain Flowers is the only patterned Rhapsody that is not a stripe, and the navy ground keeps it quiet rather than busy. Wear it belted for shape, open as a layer over something lighter, or loose on the days too hot for a waistband.

Material

100% linen at 125 g/m². Light enough for July, opaque enough to need no lining, and stonewashed before it is cut so the softness is there on the first wear rather than the fiftieth. Certified to OEKO-TEX Standard 100 and woven from European Flax.

Maker

Linen Tales is a family run linen house in Lithuania. Certified European flax goes from field to finished dress inside their own facility, through weaving, stonewashing and sewing, which is why the fabric and the garment answer to the same standard. Every dress in this collection is made there.

Size & Fit

True to size with a relaxed fit. The drawstring belt sets the waist, so size down only if you want the shoulders closer. Our model is 175 cm and wears S.

XS: half bust 50 cm (19.7 in), length 122 cm (48.0 in), sleeve 53.6 cm (21.1 in)

S: half bust 52 cm (20.5 in), length 122 cm (48.0 in), sleeve 54.3 cm (21.4 in)

M: half bust 54 cm (21.3 in), length 126 cm (49.6 in), sleeve 55 cm (21.7 in)

L: half bust 56 cm (22.1 in), length 126 cm (49.6 in), sleeve 55 cm (21.7 in)

XL: half bust 58 cm (22.8 in), length 126 cm (49.6 in), sleeve 55.5 cm (21.9 in)

XXL: half bust 59.5 cm (23.4 in), length 126 cm (49.6 in), sleeve 55.5 cm (21.9 in)

Half bust is measured flat across the garment. Double it for the full circumference.

Care

Machine wash at 30 °C with like colours. Hang to dry. Linen softens every time it goes through the wash, so the dress you own in year three is better than the one you unpack. Iron warm while slightly damp if you want it smooth, or leave the texture as it is.

Linen Tales grow this flax in Europe, weave it in Lithuania and sew it in the same building. The Rhapsody is their shirt dress, and Porcelain Flowers is the only one that is not a stripe: navy and white florals woven in, so there is no print to crack at the fold. Linen has been made this way for longer than fashion has existed, and it gets better the more you wash it.
