Details

The Hobgoblin design from the Magic collection, drawn from Tove Jansson's Novels artwork, printed in white across the back of a black coach jacket.

It is the lightest outer layer in this collection and the only piece cut to 3XL. Treat it as a wind and shower layer, not as rainwear: for real rain, the Adventure raincoat is the one.

Material

A 100% nylon shell over two linings, 100% cotton and 100% polyester. The shell turns light rain and cuts wind. The linings are what give the jacket structure, so it hangs rather than collapsing the way an unlined windbreaker does.

Maker

Nordicbuddies is a design house founded in Finland at the end of 2019, working from Finland and Sweden under official Moomin licence. Prints are taken from Tove Jansson's own drawings rather than redrawn approximations, which is the difference between a licensed piece and a lookalike. The founders grew up with the 90s animation and design for adults who still read the books.

Size & Fit

Unisex sizing, XS to 3XL. A coach jacket cut: straight body, hip length, roomy enough to layer a hoodie underneath.

This is the only piece Nordicbuddies cuts to 3XL.

Care

Wipe clean with a damp cloth, or machine wash at 30 °C on a gentle cycle.
Use a mild detergent. Do not bleach.
Hang to dry rather than tumbling, so the nylon shell keeps its finish and the cotton lining dries flat.

Moomin

Tove Jansson drew the first Moomin in 1945. Nordicbuddies began in 2019, designed in Finland and licensed to put those original Moominvalley drawings onto clothing rather than souvenirs. Outerwear is where the licence earns its keep: a print you will still want on a coat in ten years.
