Nuckö Softshell Onesie

Details

Night carries no print. It is solid matte black softshell throughout, with grey reflective piping running along the hood and one sleeve, a black hood lining and black ribbed cuffs.

On dark winter mornings the reflective piping is what makes a child visible to drivers, and a plain suit takes hand me down wear better than a print does. Rated for 6 °C below zero up to 10 above; add a fleece underneath when it is colder.

Material

94% polyester and 6% polyamide softshell, three layers bonded together: a water repellent face, a thermoactive middle and a brushed fleece inner. Rated 10,000 mm waterproof and 5,000 g/m² a day breathable, which is what makes it warm without being airless.

Maker

Nuckö designs and sews children's outerwear in its own Estonian workshop. Most sizes are made to order rather than held in stock, which takes 1 to 3 weeks and means nothing is cut that nobody asked for. Reflective detailing and softshell construction across the range.

Size & Fit

Eight sizes, by child height in centimetres: 74/80, 86/92, 98/104, 110/116, 122/128, 134/140, 146/152 and 158/164.

The waist adjusts and the cuffs and ankles are ribbed, so a size bought with room to grow still sits closed at the wrists.

Wear it over a base layer in mild weather and over fleece when it turns colder.

Care

Wash as rarely as the suit allows, turned inside out with pockets emptied and every fastening closed.
30 °C on a gentle or sports cycle, mild detergent. No fabric softener and no bleach: both strip the membrane.
Air dry on a hanger or rack without wringing. Keep it out of the tumble dryer and off the radiator.
