Details

This is the warmest pair in the collection: closed at the heel and toe, and lined in real lambswool rather than a second face of felt.

Note the size range. Light pink stops at 42, where the dark grey Budapest runs to 47.

Material

A natural lambswool felt upper with a separate lining of real lambswool. The insole is shaped, with arch support and a slightly raised heel. Closed heel and toe, with a peek hole so an enclosed wool slipper does not run hot.

Maker

Omaking is a family shoe workshop in southern Estonia that has been making footwear since 1927. It works in natural wool felt and lambswool, cuts and sews by hand, and keeps the range small. TOKU is its design line, drawn by Piibe Tomp, named Estonian Young Designer of the Year in 2018.

Size & Fit

Single sizes, 36 to 42.

Unisex. The lambswool felt moulds to the foot and gives a little over time, so take your usual size.

The insole has arch support and a slightly raised heel, so a pair sits differently underfoot from a flat slipper.

The heel and toe are closed, so allow for a snugger fit than an open back.

Care

Air them out after wearing and wash as rarely as the pair allows.
Take off pilling with a fabric shaver or a razor. Wool felt pills, and it is not a fault.
Spot clean, or hand wash cool with a mild wool detergent if they need more.
Do not machine wash, do not bleach and do not tumble dry: the coated sole is not made for it.
Air dry away from radiators and underfloor heating, and reshape them while damp.
