Details
The 791 is the least ordinary boot in the range: a laced leather boot with two buckled straps across the shaft. Samelin named it after the film director Andrei Tarkovsky.
The sole is moulded straight onto the upper, without stitching or glue.
Material
Upper in water repellent genuine leather, lined with leather only. Direct injected PU outsole. The anatomical insole is antibacterial and washable, and comes out. About 1.4 kg a pair in size 40.
Maker
Samelin is a boot factory in Estonia. It makes the M77, a combat boot first issued to the Norwegian army more than 50 years ago, and has made hiking boots for more than 20 years. Production follows the NATO AQAP 2110 quality standard and ISO 9001.
Size & Fit
EU sizes 36 to 48, unisex.
The sizes run large: take one size down. If you wear 41 in trainers, take 40.
With leather lining only, wear warmer socks in freezing weather.
Care
Brush off dirt and wipe the leather with a damp cloth.
Let wet boots dry slowly at room temperature, away from radiators and direct heat.
Keep the leather greased or waxed so it stays supple and water repellent.
Full leather boots take a little time to wear in.

Estonia
Samelin makes boots in Estonia, including the M77 issued to the Norwegian army for more than half a century. The leather is thick, the soles are moulded straight onto the upper, and the insoles come out to be washed. Boots like these take a few weeks to wear in, then they stay.
