TOKU Brussels Wool Slippers, Dark Grey

TOKU is the design line within Omaking, drawn by Piibe Tomp. The insole is what sets it apart from the plain felt mules: arch support and a slightly raised heel, which is unusual in a slipper and is the reason a pair can be worn all day.

Dark grey is the quietest of the Brussels colours, finished with small pink tabs at the heel. The pair arrives in a cotton cloth bag.

100% lambswool felt for both the upper and the lining, so there is no separate lining layer to shift. The insole is shaped, with arch support and a slightly raised heel. The outer sole and heel are black microfibre with a PU coating, which is harder wearing than rubber but is not made for washing.

Omaking is a family shoe workshop in southern Estonia that has been making footwear since 1927. It works in natural wool felt and lambswool, cuts and sews by hand, and keeps the range small. TOKU is its design line, drawn by Piibe Tomp, named Estonian Young Designer of the Year in 2018.

Air them out after wearing and wash as rarely as the pair allows.
Take off pilling with a fabric shaver or a razor. Wool felt pills, and it is not a fault.
Spot clean, or hand wash cool with a mild wool detergent if they need more.
Do not machine wash, do not bleach and do not tumble dry: the coated sole is not made for it.
Air dry away from radiators and underfloor heating, and reshape them while damp.
